Southeast Staff

 

GLRS staff is specialized in providing professional learning, technical assistance and coaching for school systems on a variety of topics related to students with disabilities including:

‚Äč

  • Provide Least Restrictive Environment (LRE) support to school systems

  • Assist Focus Schools with CCRPI

  • Analyze data

  • Facilitate math and reading projects

  • Implement/support drop-out prevention initiatives

  • Support transition planning and services

  • Develop other specialties based on student needs related to the CCRPI and SPP/APR

Kathleen Tootle

Director

 

Kathleen Tootle is currently the Program Director for Southeast GLRS. Mrs. Tootle holds a Bachelor, Master, and Educational Specialist Degree in Special Education. She has twenty-four and a half years of experience working in the field of special education both as a classroom teacher and in preparing students to become highly effective special education teachers through her work in higher education. Most recently, Mrs. Tootle has been a full-time instructor and has served as the Undergraduate Program Director for Special Education at Georgia Southern University.

Shelley Woodward

Special Education Program Specialist

 

Shelley Woodward is the special education program specialist for Southeast GLRS. Ms. Woodward holds a BA in Art, post-baccalaureate certification in Special Education, and a M.Ed. in Reading Education from Georgia Southern University. She has 13 years experience in education as a classroom teacher and instructor of special education. She founded EAGLE Academy, an inclusive post-secondary program for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities, during her tenure as an instructor at Georgia Southern.

Dustin Hightower

IT Consultant

 

Dustin Hightower is the IT Consultant at Coastal GLRS and Southeast GLRS. He obtained his bachelor's degree in Information Technology from Georgia Southern University.
