Kim Garcia Bennett

Director


Kim Garcia Bennett has been the Director of Coastal GLRS since 2018. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee, a master's degree from Armstrong State University in Savannah, Georgia, and a specialist’s degree from the University of West Georgia in Carrollton, Georgia. She is a Certified Restorative Practice Trainer, Certified Restorative Conference Trainer, Functional Behavior Assessment/Behavior Intervention Plans Certified Trainer, Certified IEP Facilitator, and Check & Connect Certified Trainer.

Mrs. Bennett has 11 years of prior experience working in the public/private sector providing job training and employment opportunities for adults as well as opportunities to support businesses with productivity and growth. Since 2007, she has been working in the field of special education as a director, program specialist, teacher, and coach for specially designed instruction and implementation strategies. She served in her former district as an RTI Coordinator, PBIS Coordinator, 21st Century Coordinator, 504 Coordinator, Summer School Administrator, and Academic Specialist. She has presented at several state and local conferences on best practices for co-teaching and implementation strategies.

Amanda Major

Program Specialist

 

Amanda Major joined Coastal GLRS as the Program Specialist in July 2021.  She holds a bachelor's degree from Georgia State University, a master's degree from Armstrong State University, and a specialist's degree from the University of West Georgia.  In addition to teacher certification, Amanda is endorsed as a Teacher Support Specialist (TSS) and in Educational Leadership. Amanda has 14 years of experience working in the field of special education, with experience as an interrelated special education teacher, an autism teacher, and an autism interventionist supporting teachers of students with ASD across settings.

Dustin Hightower

IT Specialist

 

Dustin Hightower is the IT Specialist at FDRESA. He obtained his bachelor's degree in Information Technology from Georgia Southern University. He is a Google Certified Educator and TextHelp Certified.
